Allison Hunter’s Zoosphere

March 12, 6 – 8pm at DiverseWorks Main Gallery: “…a transcendent, site-specific installation investigating humankind’s relationship to the natural world…”

Next Friday (March 12th, 2010) Houston’s Diverseworks will present Zoosphere, an immersive cross-species video installation by local artist Allison Hunter. From Diverseworks:

Allison Hunter’s Zoosphere is a transcendent, site-specific installation investigating humankind’s relationship to the natural world. In Zoosphere Hunter upends the power dynamic between the human and non-human animal within a dark, mazelike environment in which man and beast co-mingle. Against the backdrop of a rapidly shifting ecological landscape in which species across the globe are threatened with extinction, Zoosphere reconnects humanity with the beauty and wonder of the animal kingdom and forces us to examine our relationship with and responsibility to it.

It looks exciting and if you’re in town we’d recommend it. We’ll be there!
