Expanded Collaborations

This summer it has been our pleasure to collaborate with Ethan Meisler on a competition entry for ‘Primal Chair’ to commemorate the ancient forests of Kocevsko, Slovenia and promote the interaction between humans and nature.

Ethan is an architecture student at Tulane exploring design’s ability to balance the dichotomy between nature and the constructs of human habitation. His projects focus on evolving political, socio-economic, and environmental contexts, and he creates architectural designs that reflect the nuanced interplay of ecological dynamics with built-form. His recent studio projects, have deployed Architectural solutions to address the specific environmental crisis of water contamination and material lifespan degradation in water supply.

Ethan is entering his fifth year as a student in the Bachelor of Architecture program at Tulane University, with a minor in Urban Studies. He is the current Vice President of Alpha Rho Chi at Tulane, their professional architecture fraternity, and has previously worked in a product design intern position.

His thoughtful approach to design and sensitivity to non-human elements has been a inspiration and we hope he comes back to collaborate with the Expanded Environment again!
